Iowa State University was the first college in the state. The architecture is all stonework, and the campus feels like a park. It is fitting, considering O.C. Simonds, the landscape architect behind Central Park in New York City also designed the Iowa State campus landscape.
The chapter house fit in with the architecture of the area, even though it was built in 1988.
